HYUNDAI WIA hosted a farmers market in collaboration with local farmers.

On May 22, HYUNDAI WIA announced that it had hosted the “Yi-Eum Farmers Market” at its headquarters in Changwon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do, on May 21. The word “Yi-Eum” means “to connect” in Korean. HYUNDAI WIA hosted the market to promote high-quality local agricultural products and strengthen trust between producers and consumers. This was the second time that HYUNDAI WIA held the “Yi-Eum Farmers Market”.

On the day of event, 17 local farmers from Changwon-si participated in the “Yi-Eum Farmers Market”. Most of them are experienced farmers with more than 40 years in the industry. They showcased high-quality of agricultural products such as Keumhyang melons, watermelons, tomatoes, and a variety of processed local agricultural products such as persimmon leaf tea, dried persimmons, and rice bagels.

HYUNDAI WIA actively supported the participating farmers’ in their sales activities. HYUNDAI WIA recruited volunteers from the company to help farmers who needed a hand. The company also attracted visitors and boosted sales by providing discount vouchers to the employees.


Additionally, HYUNDAI WIA organized hands-on programs to encourage the participation of employees and their family members. These programs featured activities using locally grown agricultural producce, such as making mochi with strawberries and blueberries, and brewing makgeoli with locally harvested rice. The company hosted family-oriented events as well, including a bazaar featuring handmade items created by children attending the in-house daycare center. HYUNDAI WIA will donate all proceeds from the bazaar to local causes.

HYUNDAI WIA plans to promote mutual growth through activities that can genuinely support the local community. “We hope that our Yi-Eum Farmers Market becomes a valuable platform for local farmers to promote their high-quality produce, and we will continue striving as a company that not only cares but also actively engages in meaningful social contribution activities that can truly benefit the local community,” said a representative from HYUNDAI WIA.
