HYUNDAI WIA is presenting a local delicacy hand in hand with farmers from the local Gyeongsang province.

On the 10th, HYUNDAI WIA launched “Dodam Sand Cookies,” sandwich cookies made from agricultural produce grown in the Gyeongsangnam-do region. Dodam Sand Cookies were developed to support the growth of local farms through collaboration between HYUNDAI WIA, Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Government, the Rural Community Win-Win Cooperation Fund, Changwon Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and the social enterprise Gonggonggonggan. HYUNDAI WIA plans to contribute to a more sustainable local community by launching Dodam Sand Cookies as a regional specialty.

Dodam Sand Cookies were created from the 300 million KRW contributed to the Rural Community Win-Win Cooperation Fund by HYUNDAI WIA. Over the past year, HYUNDAI WIA worked closely with the provincial governmentF, local farmers, and Gyeongsangnam-do residents across the entire process—from planning and ingredient selection to finalization and marketing. HYUNDAI WIA also incorporated the company mascot “Dodam,” inspired by the endangered yellow-throated marten, in the design to signal friendliness and ecosystem restoration.

Dodam Sand Cookies represent the four seasons of Gyeongsangnam-do through flavors made with locally grown fruits: raspberries from Gimhae, mulberries from Sancheong, persimmons from Changwon, and yuzu from Namhae. By pairing gourmet butter cream with fruit jams made from local produce, the cookies deliver both the natural fruit flavors and a buttery smooth texture.


HYUNDAI WIA will donate all proceeds from Dodam Sand Cookies sales. The funds will be used for a “Green Forest Creation” initiative jointly carried out by HYUNDAI WIA and the Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Office. The project aims to restore local mountains damaged by last year’s wildfires and help rebuild habitats for endangered wildlife in the region, including the yellow-throated marten.

Starting today, Dodam Sandwiches will be available through Korea’s largest public good platform, via Naver Happybean fundraising. HYUNDAI WIA also plans to expand sales channels by opening pop-up stores at locations such as Changwon Jungang Station and at the Jinhae Gunhangje Festival, as well as launching the product through online marketplaces.

HYUNDAI WIA plans to further expand community co-prosperity initiatives through Dodam Sand Cookies. “Dodam Sand Cookies are the result of bringing ideas together to grow alongside the local community. We hope Dodam Sand Cookies become a signature local treat, and act as a seedling helping local farms and forests flourish.” said an official from HYUNDAI WIA.
