HYUNDAI WIA has taken steps to secure young talents in the domestic automotive thermal management sector.

On September 6th, HYUNDAI WIA held ‘Meet Up Day’ for Thermal Management System (TMS) at its Uiwang Research Center in Uiwang-si, Gyeonggi-do. ‘Meet Up Day’ aims to share the latest technology and trends in TMS business with students, majoring in automotive thermal management. On the day of the event, approximately 90 master's or PhD candidates working in automotive thermal management labs from major universities, including Seoul National University, attended the event. This marks the first time for HYUNDAI WIA to organize an event specifically for researchers in this field.

HYUNDAI WIA divided up the sessions into ‘Tech session’ and ‘HR session’. During the tech session, presentations related to technology were given related to design, control, analysis, and testing of automotive thermal management. These sessions also correlated how this academic knowledge could be applied to actual automotive parts production lines. HYUNDAI WIA also provided a tour around the newly constructed Thermal Management Test Center, covering an area of 6,069 square meters.

Each group was also assigned a mentor to facilitate in-depth discussions on thermal management technology research. Additionally, the ‘All-day Consultation Zone’ was set up to address academic challenges in the automotive parts areas.

HYUNDAI WIA also had an ‘HR Session’ that introduce company and recruiting policies. The leader of the Talent Acquisition Team presented the hiring process, recruiting policies, organizational culture, and many more to help address student’s concerns. The following ‘Talk Concert’ where students and HYUNDAI WIA representatives discussed not just the technical aspects, but also life at work and worries about employment.
