HYUNDAI WIA opened Safety Experience Lab to all citizens.
On October 17th, HYUNDAI WIA announced to fully open Safety Experience Lab S+, located at its headquarter in Changwon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do, to the public. S+ is an experiential training center where anyone can receive the highest level of safety education. HYUNDAI WIA is not only opening S+ to workers in the manufacturing industry but is also hosting its first safety training session for the local community on October 29th. Reservations for the training can be made through the HYUNDAI WIA S+ website at splus.wia.co.kr.
All training sessions at S+ are conducted in an experiential format. The safety education for citizens includes disaster evacuation training and first aid training, featuring hands-on experiences such as ▲ descending life line usage practice ▲ smoke and heat evacuation drills ▲ fire extinguisher usage ▲ cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) practice and ▲ automated external defibrillator (AED usage Participants undergo comprehensive education aimed at equipping individuals to effectively manage safety incidents that may arise in daily life. HYUNDAI WIA provides both practical exercises and theoretical instruction in the dedicated safety training room located on the second floor of S+.
HYUNDAI WIA S+ also received ‘private safety experience center’ certification from Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency last September. This recognition marks as the 39th center nation-wide, and the first among private companies in Gyeongsangnam-do. S+ was well evaluated for having 23 training facilities across five themes that replicates actual industrial sites. ‘Safety experience center certificate’ implemented by Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency grants qualifications to private training centers that conduct high-quality safety education. Supervisors and workers who complete the training at these certified centers may receive double credits for the training hours.
HYUNDAI WIA plans to promote safety culture to the public and provide opportunities for efficient completion of mandatory trainings through S+. “We sincerely hope that S+ becomes a space that spreads safety culture in local community. We will work to become a representative model for safety education not only in Gyeongsangnam-do but across the country”, said an official from HYUNDAI WIA.
