HYUNDAI WIA targets the European market with automobile parts, such as integrated thermal management system modules and air conditioning systems, dedicated to electric vehicles(EV).

On October 23rd, HYUNDIA WIA unveiled the Integrated Thermal Management Module integrating coolant and refrigerant modules at IZB 2024, held in Wolfsburg’s Allerpark, Germany from the 22nd  to 24th of October. HYUNDAI WIA presented 16 automotive parts for EVs at the exhibition. IZB 2024 is a large-scale automotive parts exhibition hosted by Volkswagen which attracted more than 50,000 visitors.

HYUNDAI WIA focused on automobile parts for EVs to target customers in Europe. In accordance with the eco-friendly vehicle policies, HYUNDAI WIA has customized the sales point. HYUNDAI WIA focused on introducing Integrated Thermal Management System (ITMS). The product was developed this year and was introduced for the first time in this exhibition as a completed integrated thermal management system module. This part combined the coolant and refrigerant modules into a single module. HYUNDIA WIA successfully enhanced the thermal management efficiency and utilized the space for over 25% with the modularization.

HYUNDAI WIA also unveiled parts for the EV's air conditioning. The air conditioning system, including the HVAC(Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning) module, heat exchanger, and compressor, was exhibited. HYUNDAI WIA is designed to reduce the volume of air conditioning parts and improve efficiency. In the case of the actual HVAC module, the height was reduced by 30%, and a two-story structure was adopted to improve electricity costs.

HYUNDAI WIA also showcased driveline parts for EVs, Electric Torque Vectoring System (e-TVTC). This part distributes the torque to the left and right tires to greatly improve driving stability. Since both left and right tires can be 100% controlled as the driver desires, it is also called the perfect form of Four Wheel Drive (4WD). HYUNDIA WIA also added a disconnecting function, that physically disconnects the drive motor from the drive shaft to enhance fuel efficiency. The advanced technology of e-TVTC was applied to Hyundai Motor’s concept car ‘RN22e’, the essence of advanced technologies.

HYUNDAI WIA also presented the next-generation driveline part, ‘Integrated Drive Axle (IDA),’ currently used in Hyundai Motor and KIA’s EVs. IDA integrated a ‘drive shaft’ that transmits torque to the wheel and a ‘wheel bearing’ that connects it to the wheel. HYUNDAI WIA reduced the weight of the parts and increased rigidity, which significantly improved the driving performance.

HYUNDAI WIA strives to accelerate targeting European automotive companies through this exhibition. “We are pleased to be able to showcase our advanced part manufacturing technology in the European market. We will continue to secure orders from Europe through continuous R&D and sales activities,” said an official from HYUNDAI WIA.
