HYUNDAI WIA CEO Jung Jae-wook held an event to communicate with new employees.
On February 24, HYUNDAI WIA announced to hold ‘CEO Welcome Talk’ event in Erumjae, located in Changwon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do. CEO Jung Jae-wook openly communicated with 65 new employees, hired in 2023.
The CEO asked the new employees to grow as talents who play a pivotal role in the future mobility industry. “Our company vision is to provide parts, robots, and manufacturing solutions to the future mobility industry. If everyone plays their part in their own place, the company’s status will definitely change in the global market”, he said. “At a company level, we will spare no human and material resource to expand future businesses”, he added.
Jung Jae-wook stressed that new employees should grow based on ‘idea’ and ‘transparency’. “The biggest advantage of a new hire is that they can talk about new ideas that have been thought outside of the box. As the company respects the opinion of others, please feel free to give new ideas”, said Jung Jae-wook, in response to how to work well in the company. He added, “Whatever you do, work transparently and honestly. This is the foundation of trust.”
Jung Jae-wook also revealed his know-how to fit well in the company. The know-how has been obtained over 39 years since the start of his career in 1984. “New employees should always have questions. Throwing different questions in mind and communicating openly with senior colleagues can naturally offer an opportunity to learn and gain confidence.” He also highlighted the importance of learning by mentioning, “Studying the books that I have studied as a student has greatly helped me to combine theory with hands-on work.”
Jung Jae-wook also recommended a book for new employees. “In this book, the captain gives authority to the crew members, which makes everyone be a ‘leader’ when overcoming a crisis”, he said when introducing the book <Turn the Ship Around>, which tells a real story of US nuclear submarine captain L. David Marquet. “I dearly wish you all to have a mindset of a leader and be bold with initiative. The more you speak up, the better your work life will be”, he added.
HYUNDAI WIA will continue to investigate onboarding new employees to grow as a talent to lead the future mobility industry. “We have prepared this event to secure these talented workers and help them to adapt well to the company. In a one-team spirit, we will devote efforts to respond to the rapidly changing mobility industry”, said an official from HYUNDAI WIA.
