HYUNDAI WIA held an environmental protection campaign to mark its 50th anniversary celebration.

On the 15th, HYUNDAI WIA announced that it held its ‘Green the Planet’ campaign from the 13th to the 14th at ‘Dodam Garden’ in Seoul Forest, Seongdong-gu, Seoul. ‘Green the Planet’ is HYUNDAI WIA’s environmental campaign designed to respond to climate change and broaden public awareness of biodiversity. The campaign was organized to commemorate HYUNDAI WIA’s 50th anniversary in a more meaningful way. About 1,000 people participated over the two days.

The campaign took place at Dodam Garden, a Corporate Companion Garden established in May through an MOU between HYUNDAI WIA and the Seoul Metropolitan Government. The garden features a diverse array of plant species, including Caryopteris incana and Filipendula formosa Nakai, as well as a dedicated nectar plant zone. By incorporating species native to the Jiri Mountain, along with the nectar plants that provide vital food sources for bees, the garden was designed to highlight the importance of biodiversity and nature conservation. The garden also features ‘Dodam,’ HYUNDAI WIA’s character inspired by the endangered yellow-throated marten and serves as a space conveying the message of nature conservation.


As part of the campaign, visitors were encouraged to pledge to protect the environment. Through the 'Wind of Togetherness' program, participants wrote their commitments to sustainable actions on pinwheels, which were then displayed throughout the garden. Another program, 'Dodam’s Wish,' was created for families and children, inviting them to explore the garden in search of hidden Dodam figures while learning about ways to help protect endangered animals. Participants also received ‘Fresh Start Seed Kits’, extending the campaign’s message beyond the garden and into everyday life at home.

“We organized this environmental campaign to make our 50th anniversary even more meaningful. We will continue striving to become a company that protects the environment, preserves biodiversity, keeps the planet clean, and grows with local communities,” said an official from HYUNDAI WIA.
