HYUNDAI WIA has published 2026 Sustainability Report, highlighting its sustainable management activities and future management goals.

On June 30, HYUNDAI WIA announced the publication of the ‘2026 HYUNDAI WIA Sustainability Report’, aiming to transparently share its ESG goal and performance with all stakeholders. In the report, HYUNDAI WIA presented its ESG governance structure centered on the Transparency Management Committee and outlined its commitment to strengthen its sustainability management system. In the report, HYUNDAI WIA disclosed three major issues selected through ‘Double Materiality Assessment’. Specifically, these include ▲Sustainable supply chain management ▲Climate change response & greenhouse gas reduction ▲Workplace safety and health management. HYUNDAI WIA derived these issues through a ‘Double Materiality Assessment’ that takes into account both the company’s impact on society and the environment and the impact those areas have on the company. HYUNDAI WIA plans to further enhance its sustainability management system based on the key achievements and management direction for each material issue.

HYUNDAI WIA is actively making efforts to build a sustainable supply chain. The company has conducted ESG assessments for its partner companies and has supported improvement efforts for high-risk companies. Last year, HYUNDAI WIA conducted supply chain ESG assessments for a total of 167 partner companies. In addition, HYUNDAI WIA has operated a ‘Shared Growth Fund’ that provides low interest loans to its partner companies, while further strengthening their capabilities through technical support and ESG training programs.

HYUNDAI WIA also detailed its key achievements and implementation plans related to climate action. In particular, the company obtained validation from the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) in May for its GHG reduction targets. The SBTi is a global initiative that validates whether a company’s GHG reduction targets are aligned with science-based targets. This validation has also been used as a key metric in how global automakers assess parts suppliers, particularly since the U.K. government last year incorporated it into the eligibility criteria for EV subsidies. HYUNDAI WIA plans to achieve its mid- to long-term targets of reducing direct and indirect emissions from its operations (Scope 1 and 2) by 36.5% by 2030 and reducing supply chain emissions (Scope 3) by 31.8% by 2035, while strengthening its competitiveness in the global market.

In recent years, HYUNDAI WIA has steadily reduced both GHG emissions and energy consumption through business reorganization and increased adoption of renewable energy. In 2025, Scope 1·2 GHG emissions across domestic and overseas operations decreased by 15.7% from previous year’s 279,621 tCO2eq to 234,7071tCO2eq. Total energy consumption also decreased by 3.8%. In addition, HYUNDAI WIA conducted LCA(Life Cycle Assessments) on 14 products, including integrated thermal management systems, modules, and CV joints, further strengthening its management of carbon emissions at the product level.

HYUNDAI WIA is targeting to achieve carbon neutrality RE100 by 2045. As of 2025, the company achieved an RE100 implementation rate of 14.9% across all business sites. The company’s Slovakia subsidiary achieved RE100 last year by sourcing 100% of the electricity used at its plant from renewable energy through the purchase of GO certificates. Meanwhile, its India subsidiary sources approximately 89.3% of its electricity from renewable energy through a power purchase agreement (PPA) and renewable energy certificate (REC) purchases, and continues to increase the share of renewable energy.

HYUNDAI WIA also presented its safety and health management plan. Under the vision of ‘A Collaboration for a Happier Future,’ the company is pursuing safety management by achieving ▲Accident-free operations ▲Strong safety culture ▲ Zero severe accidents. In pursuit of these goals, the company conducted 4,563 risk assessments last year and implemented 80 improvement measures targeting major hazards, including collisions, falls and overturning incidents. No severe accidents occurred during this period. HYUNDAI WIA also expanded its hands-on safety training program, increasing the number of participating companies from 118 in 2024 to 408 last year.

HYUNDAI WIA also presented its goals for human rights management in this report. Based on the roadmap established last year, the company plans to build a human rights impact assessment system and conduct pilot assessments beginning this year. HYUNDAI WIA intends to gradually expand human rights impact assessments across major domestic and overseas operations and subsidiaries in order to systematically identify and address human-rights risks.

HYUNDAI WIA has received recognition for these management achievements from major ESG assessment organizations, earning an A+ ESG Integrated Rating from the KCGS, an A Score for CDP’s Climate Disclosure, a EcoVadis Gold Medal, and an AA rating for the second consecutive year in the Fair Trade Commission's Compliance Program evaluation. “Through the Sustainability Report, stakeholders can review HYUNDAI WIA’s commitment to ESG management and its key achievements.
