HYUNDAI WIA cooperated with Seongsan Fire Department to create a safe workplace.

On November 1st, HYUNDAI WIA conducted a large-scale Major Disaster Response Drill at the Changwon Plant 1 in Changwon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do. The drill scenario involved fire extinguishing of hazardous materials, emergency evacuation and other safety measures. Over 100 HYUNDAI WIA employees participated in a joint drill with Seongsan Fire Department, part of Changwon Fire Headquarters.

HYUNDAI WIA recently conducted a drill to simulate a Class B oil fire caused by flammable liquids, such as oil and alcohol. The drill was designed to replicate a scenario in which oil vapor catches fire due to static electricity during the handling of hazardous materials. In the event of a fire, HYUNDAI WIA employees were instructed to immediately announce the emergency and call 119 Safety Center. They were then trained to evacuate to the designated evacuation center.

Before the firefighters arrived, HYUNDAI WIA employees divided into several teams for initial fire extinguishing, protection and safety, and evacuation guidance. Employees from the protection and safety team used sandbags around the area to prevent fire spreading to the other dangerous items nearby. Meanwhile, the initial extinguishing team practiced the usage of fire extinguishers to put off the fire in the workplace. Additionally, HYUNDAI WIA conducted a life-saving drill, which considered the scenario of being stranded without proper evacuation during an emergency situation.

Hyundai WIA is committed to enhancing workplace safety by providing comprehensive disaster response training and education. "This drill has helped us improve our ability to handle workplace fires in collaboration with public officials.
