HYUNDAI WIA supported the recovery of Seocheon Specialty Market in Chungcheongnam-do from fire damage.  

On February 1st, HYUNDAI WIA announced the delivery of 50 million won funds to Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association to support restoring the fire site and the affected merchants in Seocheon Specialty Market in Chungcheongnam-do.

Considering that the damage was concentrated on the merchant’s property, HYUNDAI WIA donated the money to help the victimized merchants who were severely damaged by the fire before the Lunar New Year holiday. The donated funds will be fairly distributed by stores in proportion to the scale of damage by the National Disaster Relief Association.

This donation was more meaningful as half of the funds were raised through ‘The Miracle of 1%, the company’s corporate social responsibility program where employees donate 1% of their salary to help neighbors. HYUNDAI WIA decided to add 25 million won to the 25 million won raised by the employees to help merchants of Seocheon Specialty Market.

HYUNDAI WIA plans to continue to expand activities to help communities in need. “We hope that his donation could relieve the merchants of Seocheon Specialty Market. As a company with a worksite in Chungcheongnam-do, we sympathize with the pain of local neighbors and shall pursue mutual growth with the local community with various programs”, said an official from HYUNDAI WIA.
