HYUNDAI WIA employees have donated a portion of their salaries to support welfare organizations in communities near their workplaces.
On February 13, HYUNDAI WIA announced the donation of ‘HYUNDAI WIA Dream Cars’ to 10 welfare organizations, including the Daom Workshop for the Disabled in Changwon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do. The donation ceremony was attended by representatives from welfare organizations in Uiwang City, Gyeonggi-do, Ulsan Metropolitan City, and Gwangju Metropolitan City, as well as actress Hyo-jin Gong and her mother, Ok-ran Kim, chairwoman of the Foundation for Love and Food. With this latest contribution, HYUNDAI WIA has donated a total of 180 vehicles to welfare organizations nationwide since 2013.
The vehicles were funded through a combination of corporate contributions and employee donations from the ‘1% Miracle’ program, totaling approximately 500 million won. ‘1% Miracle’ is HYUNDAI WIA’s internal social contribution initiative, where employees donate 1% of their salary to help their local communities. These funds are used for various support efforts, including the Dream Car program.
HYUNDAI WIA provided vehicles to welfare organizations struggling with outdated or insufficient transportation. A Hyundai Mighty 3.5-ton truck, modified as a mobile car that is specialized to provide meals, was donated to the Love Rice Car Organization in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. This special vehicle, equipped with cooking and refrigeration facilities, enables the organization to continue its free meal services more safely and efficiently.

Additionally, HYUNDAI WIA donated a Hyundai Staria to the Daom Disability Protection Workshop, which assists individuals with disabilities in gaining independence. The organization had been facing transportation challenges, including difficulties in commuting and delivering products. With the new vehicle, employees can now travel safely and without delay.
Looking ahead, HYUNDAI WIA plans to expand the Dream Car initiative to ensure more individuals can move freely and safely. “It is deeply rewarding to share warmth with our communities through the generosity of our employees. We will continue to engage in meaningful social contribution activities and strive to grow together with our neighbors,” said an official from HYUNDAI WIA.
