HYUNDAI WIA has received an A+ rating for the third consecutive year in the ESG evaluation conducted by the Korea Institute of Corporate Governance and Sustainability (KCGS).

On November 20th, HYUNDAI WIA announced that the company received an overall A+ rating in the 2025 ESG (environmental, social, and governance) evaluation conducted by KCGS.  HYUNDAI WIA earned A+ ratings in the Environmental and Social categories, and an A rating in Governance, resulting in a comprehensive A+. Only 2.4% of companies received an A+ rating this time.

KCGS is Korea’s leading ESG evaluation institution, guiding companies toward sustainable management and enabling capital market participants to understand corporate ESG standards by providing evaluation, analysis, and research. KCGS conducts ESG assessments across Environmental, Social, and Governance categories, and this year, 805 listed companies were selected for evaluation.

HYUNDAI WIA’s efforts to establish detailed action plans for ESG management directly contributed to the evaluation results. By conducting a Double Materiality Assessment, HYUNDAI WIA defined material issues as ▲ Climate change response and Greenhouse gas reduction ▲ Workplace health and safety ▲ Sustainable supply chain management. HYUNDAI WIA quantified mid-to long-term goals for the areas of climate change management, workplace health and safety, and supply chain management to address these key issues in a focused and systematic manner. Detailed response strategies have also been transparently disclosed.

HYUNDAI WIA received the highest score in the environmental category, recognized for its efforts to reduce GHG emissions. HYUNDAI WIA joined ‘RE100’, an initiative that commits businesses to using 100% renewable energy, and is aiming for carbon neutrality by 2045.  HYUNDAI WIA also regularly monitors the energy efficiency of high-consumption facilities across business sites and is reducing energy usage by upgrading these facilities.

HYUNDAI WIA also obtained an A+ rating in the social category for standardized health and safety management. Under the vision, ‘A Collaboration for a Happier Future”, the company is striving for ▲ No-Injury Achievements ▲ Establishing a safety culture ▲ Eliminating Serious Incidents. To this end, HYUNDAI WIA conducted 4,560 risk assessments last year and implemented improvement initiatives. HYUNDAI WIA is also operating a Safety e-Hotline for all employees for proactive prevention of safety accidents. Furthermore, to ensure safety across the entire supply chain, HYUNDAI WIA opened the doors of the company’s ‘S+ Safety Experience Lab’ and provided safety training to 172 external suppliers last year.

HYUNDAI WIA’s expanding social contribution portfolio also received recognition. The company’s genuine commitment towards mutual growth with local communities shown through programs such as the ‘Dream Car’ initiative and the ‘Yi-Eum farmers market’ contributed to high marks. HYUNDAI WIA employees also donate 1 % of their monthly salary towards ‘Dream Car’s, and a total of 180 Dream Cars have been gifted to welfare facilities since 2013. Additionally, the company has continued to host the Yi-Eum farmers market to help expand sales channels for local farmers in Changwon.
