HYUNDAI WIA holds ‘CEO TownHall Meeting’ and opens a communication session with employees

The leaders of the HYUNDAI WIA and employees participated in an open communication event.
On June 21st, HYUNDAI WIA announced that the company held the ‘2024 TownHall Meeting’ on 20th at the headquarters located in Changwon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do. The TownHall Meeting is an event where leaders share their management goals and performances while openly communicating with the employees. The company’s leaders shared their management goals and accomplishments, engaging in open discussions about future growth opportunities. Along with CEO Jae-wook Jung, over 250 employees participated in the event. The meeting was also streamed live online, allowing employees who couldn’t attend in person to participate as well.  

The theme of the TownHall Meeting was ‘Creating an Open Communication platform Together’. “We need proactive engagement and new perspectives from all employees to increase our compatibility in the future mobility market,” “I hope the TownHall Meeting will provide an opportunity for open discussions where we can share diverse thoughts, regardless of our positions,” said the CEO of HYUNDAI WIA in the opening speech.

HYUNDAI WIA prepared a session called ‘Sharing CEO’s thoughts’, allowing participating employees to freely ask questions to the leaders of each division as well as the CEO. When one employee asked about strengthening compatibility in future businesses, CEO Jae-wook Jung responded, “We are beginning to see visible results in our thermal management system for electric vehicles.” He added “By 2030, HYUNDAI WIA will become a company with superior competitiveness in global EV thermal management market with our proprietary technology.” He also added, “We will balance our business portfolio by focusing on new ventures such as  mobility solution, and we’ll secure quality and production cost competitiveness.”  

CEO Jae-wook Jung also shared his thoughts about how to improve the corporate culture with the employees. In this regard, he shared the goal of renewing the way we work so that we can maximize our collective intelligence while establishing infrastructure that can increase work efficiency.  He added,  “We’ll form a new task force team (TFT) within the company to address the low fertility rate issue, which is a major national concern, and develop effective support measures.”

HYUNDAI WIA plans to continuously hold similar events where all people in the company, from the higher executives to new employees, can communicate openly in a comfortable space. “We’ve organized this event to offer everyone a valuable opportunity to discuss how to respond to the rapidly changing mobility paradigm and determine the future direction of the company. We will hold the TownHall Meeting again on a larger scale to promote transparent communication, and ultimately create an enjoyable corporate culture,” said an official from HYUNDAI WIA.
