HYUNDAI WIA donates 600 first aid kits to low-income families

2025-12-02

HYUNDAI WIA donated first aid kits to low-income families in the local community.

On December 2nd, HYUNDAI WIA announced that it delivered 600 home first aid kits for low-income households. HYUNDAI WIA raised the funds through the proceeds generated from operating the S+ Safety Experience Lab located at its Changwon headquarters. The S+ provides high-quality hands-on safety education not only to manufacturing workers but also to the general public. It also offers both free and paid training programs for businesses and organizations. HYUNDAI WIA plans to donate a portion of the proceeds from paid training programs each year to support local community safety and welfare.

Through its donation, HYUNDAI WIA was selected as the first donor for the December round of ‘Hope 2026 Sharing Campaign’ hosted by Gyeongnam Social Welfare Community Chest of Korea. On December 1st, HYUNDAI WIA donated 30 million KRW at the campaign kickoff ceremony held in front of Changwon city hall in Gyeongsangnam-do. At the ceremony, TaeKyu Yang, head of the Business Support Division at HYUNDAI WIA, attended the ceremony and said, “ It is very meaningful to share warmth with our neighbors through this donation at the end of the year,” adding, “We will continue to fulfill our social responsibilities both within our plants and in the broader local community.”

HYUNDAI WIA plans to continue various social contribution activities for the safety and health of the local community. In fact, HYUNDAI WIA has been actively engaging in initiatives that benefit the community through its employee-participation program, ‘1% of Miracle.’ The ‘1% of Miracle’ is a company program in which HYUNDAI WIA employees voluntarily donate 1% of their monthly salary to help the local community. HYUNDAI WIA uses raised funds through this program to support neighbors in need, including: ▲ covering medical expenses for children from low-income multicultural families ▲ providing health care kits for people with disabilities ▲ installing automatic gas shut-off devices for low-income elderly living alone.

“Through the operation of the S+ Safety Experience Lab, we aim to promote a culture of safety not only among manufacturing workers but also throughout the local community. We will continue to do our best to grow together with our neighbors and to build HYUNDAI WIA that truly cares for its community,” said an official from HYUNDAI WIA.
