HYUNDAI WIA held an interactive technology exhibition to celebrate 50th anniversary.

HYUNDAI WIA announced on July 27 that it had held Tech Week from July 20 to 25 at its Uiwang R&D center in Uiwang-si, Gyeonggi-do. Tech Week is a interactive technology exhibition where HYUNDAI WIA showcases its core technologies behind thermal management system, automotive parts, robotics and defense businesses. Held in celebration of the company’s 50th anniversary, the event welcomed around 2,000 people including employees, their families and customers.

HYUNDAI WIA designed the exhibition to enable all visitors to experience [엄1.1]the company’s next-generation technologies firsthand. In particular, the company displayed its distributed HVAC (Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning) experience vehicle, which attracted significant attention at CES 2026 held in Las Vagas earlier this year, allowing visitors to experience its next- generation HVAC system. The distributed HVAC system uses AI and various sensors to provide an optimal in-cabin environment by reflecting passenger’s body temperature, thermal comfort, cabin temperature and humidity, and personal preferences.


HYUNDAI WIA also showcased ARS (Active Roll Stabilization) and a Dual CVJ (Constant Velocity Joint), drivetrain components designed for future mobility. ARS is a component that significantly reduces vehicle body roll when driving on uneven roads or while cornering. Notably, HYUNDAI WIA became the first company in the autonomies industry to apply robotics technology known as a SEA (Series Elastic Actuator) to ARS, enabling more precise torque control while simultaneously absorbing external impacts and vibrations. HYUNDAI WIA also exhibited its dual CVJ, which connects two CVJ in series. It enables a maximum steering angle of 52 degrees, making it easier for vehicles to make U-turns even on narrow roads. To help visitors intuitively understand the value of dual CVJ, HYUNDAI WIA provided an experience in which they could drive two miniature cars with different turning radii.

HYUNDAI WIA hosted a special lecture to provide all employees with insights into science and technology. Science communicator Gwedo (Orbit Scientist) was invited to deliver a lecture titled ‘Stories of how curiosity changed the world’. Through the Quiz and Q&A session with Gwedo, employees gained deeper understanding of AI, science, and engineering.

On the 25, the final day of the Tech Week, HYUNDAI WIA also held its ‘Open LAB’ event, inviting employees’ families. Invited family members were able to experience HYUNDAI WIA’s technologies and products firsthand. HYUNDAI WIA organized hands-on programs for employees’ children, including a ‘Make a cheering card for your parents’ activity and ‘One-day robot-building class,’ where participants could learn the basic principles of automotive drivetrain components. The company also gave office tours of its workspaces, allowing families to experience employees’ actual workspaces. All event participants received a Researcher Certificate.

HYUNDAI WIA plans to continue expanding internal events that promote technology sharing and communication among employees.
