HYUNDAI WIA Slovakia has relocated its production facilities to the new plant in Martin, located in the Žilina region, establishing a large-scale production system. Founded in April 2023, HYUNDAI WIA Slovakia had until recently been manufacturing constant velocity joints (CVJs) at another facility in the Žilina region. The company decided to relocate to the new plant to proactively accommodate HYUNDAI WIA Slovakia’s medium- and long-term production growth and secure a stable manufacturing base.
At the new plant, HYUNDAI WIA Slovakia will start mass production of both CVJs and coolant modules. The facility has an annual production capacity of up to 800,000 CVJs and 280,000 coolant modules. Through continued investment, HYUNDAI WIA aims to expand the subsidiary’s CVJ production capacity by up to five times. The company also diversify its product portfolio by adding HVAC modules alongside coolant modules.
HYUNDAI WIA Slovakia will supply CVJs and thermal management components to Hyundai Motor, Kia, and other global automakers. In particular, the company aims to strengthen its presence in the European electrification market by supplying components for dedicated battery electric vehicle (BEV) models, including Kia’s EV2 and EV4. In line with this expansion, the company’s headcount is expected to grow from the current 98 employees to approximately 410 by 2030.

With world-class technology and quality, we will become a trusted partner for customers across Europe.”
With the start of operations at its new Slovakia plant, HYUNDAI WIA aims to further expand its market share in Europe’s drivetrain components and automotive thermal management component markets. “The new Slovakia plant will enable us to accelerate our expansion into the European electric-vehicle components market. We will continue strengthening our global manufacturing competitiveness through ongoing investment and technological development,” said an official from HYUNDAI WIA.
